“The friendly, English-speaking extraterrestrial you run into outside your house is asking you to recommend the one book, movie, or song that explains what humans are all about. What do you pick?” From a Daily Prompt by http://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/worldly-encounters/
I hand him my Bible.
He asks me: Why?
I say: Because it tells the story of a diverse humanity that
Is born,
Grows,
Suffers,
Enjoys,
Loves,
Hates,
Kills,
Gives birth,
Dies.
And it gives mankind a hope of meaning in it all.
The extraterrestrial says thanks and when he leaves I call after him:
By the way, did I mention that it is the most read book in the human world?
